We're thrilled to announce that The University of North Carolina Press (UNC Press) will be joining University Press Scholarship Online in July this year!
In 1922, on the campus of the nation's oldest state university, thirteen distinguished educators and civic leaders created the University of North Carolina Press. It was the first university press in the South, and one of the first in America. Since its creation over ninety years ago, the UNC Press has earned national and international recognition for quality academic scholarship. Their publications "explore important questions, spark lively debates, generate ideas, and move fields of inquiry forward. They illuminate the life of the mind." The Press has printed over 4,000 titles to date, with over 1,500 over these still in print.
North Carolina Scholarship Online (NCSO) will see the best of UNC Press' list made available online in XML for the first time, and will launch in July with almost 400 titles. NCSO will be adding new content to 11 UPSO subjects, including Anthropology, History, Law, and Religion.
